Market Replay

Market Replay in NinjaTrader allows you to replay past market data in real time, offering valuable practice opportunities while using AlgoBox™. By simulating previous trading conditions with replay data, you can practice strategies and decision-making skills. Market Replay also lets you rewind and replay specific times of the day or trading sessions, providing potential insights and practice opportunities.

NinjaTrader provides market replay with historical real-time data, making it highly suitable for practicing strategies with AlgoBox™. This feature allows for strategy testing.

Steps To Setup Market Replay In NinjaTrader

Navigate to the "Connections" tab and select "Playback" from the drop-down menu.

Note: To connect to Playback, you must first disconnect from any other active connections in NinjaTrader.

Select the instrument you wish to download, choose your desired date and click the "Download" button indicated by arrow number 3.

Once you have downloaded the desired instrument and date range, you are ready to begin using the replay feature in NinjaTrader.

To replay historical data, begin by selecting the instrument indicated by arrow 1, choosing the date marked by arrow 2, and then clicking "Continue," as indicated by arrow 3.

Click the green play button to start the data playback, as indicated by arrow 1, Use the up arrow to increase the replay speed, with options such as 1x, 2x, 4x or 6x, as shown by arrow 2.

Below is an example demonstrating the play/pause functions, the speed adjustment options, changing the date and time in market replay. You can increase or decrease the replay speed to your desired rate, such as 1x, 2x, 4x, 10x, 20x, 100x, etc.

WATCH: Adjust the Playback start date to your specific preference and press the "Play" button to load the data for that selected day. The End date can be modified the same way but selecting the drop-down calendar.

Alternatively, you can load the market replay for a specific date and time by right-clicking on the "Playback window." From the submenu, select "Go To," then choose the desired date and enter the time for replay.
