4 Types of Stop Losses

Box, Dot, Cross, Triangle

Stop losses shape your risk management. With the AlgoBox™ strategies, optimal stop loss locations utilize 4 types: Boxes, Dots, Crosses and Triangles.

For bullish scenarios, stop losses are ideally placed behind (under) the Box, Dot, Cross or Triangle.

For bearish scenarios, stop losses are ideally placed behind (above) the Box, Dot, Cross or Triangle.

Deciding on the Box, Dot, Cross, or Triangle depends on which strategy you've chosen to use. Each strategy may differ and the Ultimate OBOS Triangle is designed to be used on larger AlgoBar and range bar charts such as the Tide, Wave & MACV - using the Triangle for your stop loss may inherently increase risk.
